Job Description

The Cloud Modernisation Program Director is a senior executive role responsible for leading TAL’s enterprise-wide transformation from legacy systems to a modern, cloud-based Microsoft ecosystem. With a strong focus on large-scale application migration, the role ensures the structured and risk-managed transition of critical business systems while maintaining operational stability and regulatory compliance. This includes driving the prioritisation and sequencing of migration waves, managing key dependencies, and delivering measurable outcomes across multiple application portfolios.

Operating at the executive level, the Program Director provides strategic oversight, governance, and performance reporting across a complex, multi-stream program spanning application migration, data platform uplift, and AI enablement. The role partners closely with Executive Leadership and strategic vendors, including Microsoft, to drive alignment between business objectives, investment decisions, and delivery outcomes. Central to success is the ability to engage senior stakeholders, ensure transparency and accountability, and accelerate cloud adoption—ultimately enabling TAL to operate as a modern, data-driven, and AI-enabled enterprise.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end application migration strategy and execution, including portfolio assessment, migration wave planning and execution governance
  • Establish and lead executive governance forums, including SteerCo, ensuring clear visibility of progress, risks and decisions required
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of application migration risks, including operational, regulatory and customer impacts
  • Lead executive engagement with Microsoft and key delivery partners, ensuring alignment to migration strategy and outcomes
  • Ensure application migration is fully integrated with target cloud architecture, platform engineering and data strategy
  • Oversee business readiness and adoption for migrated applications, ensuring continuity and value realisation

Qualifications

  • Understanding of cloud platforms and infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS)
  • Experience across application modernisation, data platforms and AI enablement
  • Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation programs (cloud, data or platform)

The base salary range for candidates within the San Francisco Bay Area is $140,000 - $152,000. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All regular employees may also be eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). We also provide a full benefits package to all regular employees.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Operate as an independent thought partner to Product, Engineering, and Design — helping shape strategy, not just measure it. You’ll proactively identify opportunities and risks, framing the right questions before they’re even asked.
  • Work with the team to develop a rich program of experimentation and A/B testing to improve member product experiences, including metric creation, experiment design, power analysis, and analysis of experiment results.

  • Develop robust data pipelines in dbt for your team, and continuously improve the quality and accessibility of customer data.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 5-7 years of relevant hands-on experience in product or business analytics roles (FinTech a plus).
  • Expert-level SQL ability and proficiency in Python.
  • Broad knowledge of applied statistics, experimental design, and analysis of A/B tests. Demonstrated experience with machine learning techniques for applied business use cases.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a trusted advisor to senior cross-functional partners — influencing decisions through both data and judgment.

About this Position

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of models and pipelines, ensuring the related solutions remain reliable, fair, and scalable.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, providing guidance on best practices and methodologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in AI/ML, MLOps, and fintech analytics, and help integrate them into Gozem’s stack.

You are the right person for this job if you 


  • Have strong expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling, and know how to bring models from prototype to production.
  • Have hands-on experience with transactional data, financial services data, or digital payments.
  • Are comfortable with basic analytics engineering tasks: writing efficient SQL queries, cleaning large messy datasets, and automating data flows.
  • Have experience working with metadata standards, insights quality frameworks, and governance practices.
  • Are able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Can balance innovation with pragmatism, delivering models and insights that drive measurable business impact.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of challenges and moving projects forward.

You have

  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data science, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or digital platforms.
  • Core skills: Mastery of SQL, Python, and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Analytics engineering basics: Experience with ETL & automation tools (Airflow, Dataform, or equivalent), and handling large-scale structured/unstructured datasets.
  • Visualization: Proficiency in Looker Studio, Metabase, or other BI tools.
  • Nice-to-have skills: Knowledge of R, BigQuery, GCP, or MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Kubeflow, etc.).
  • Tools to master: Asana, Jira, Google Suite.
  • Languages: French and/or English (bilingual proficiency is a strong plus).
  • Location: Hybrid.

Qu’est-ce qu’un Senior Data Scientist chez Gozem ?

Notre Senior Data Scientist sera chargĂ© de concevoir et de mettre en Ɠuvre des modĂšles capables d’analyser de grands ensembles de donnĂ©es pour rĂ©soudre diffĂ©rents problĂšmes et prĂ©dire les rĂ©sultats futurs. Il travaille en Ă©troite collaboration avec les gestionnaires d’entreprise pour comprendre leurs dĂ©fis et leurs objectifs, traduisant des donnĂ©es complexes en insights exploitables. Ce rĂŽle implique non seulement des compĂ©tences techniques en programmation et en analyse de donnĂ©es, mais aussi la capacitĂ© de communiquer efficacement les rĂ©sultats et de mentoriser les membres juniors de l’équipe.   • DĂ©velopper et mettre en Ɠuvre des modĂšles statistiques avancĂ©s et d’apprentissage automatique pour rĂ©soudre des problĂšmes complexes
  • Diriger le processus de prise de dĂ©cision basĂ© sur les donnĂ©es, de la collecte et de l’analyse des donnĂ©es Ă  la mise en Ɠuvre et au suivi des solutions
  • GĂ©rer les projets de science des donnĂ©es, en veillant Ă  ce qu’ils rĂ©pondent aux exigences commerciales et soient livrĂ©s dans les dĂ©lais
  • Mentorat des data scientists/analysts juniors, en leur fournissant guidance et soutien dans leur dĂ©veloppement professionnel

Vous avez

  • Niveau d’éducation : Licence en informatique/mathĂ©matiques/statistiques ou toute certification pertinente liĂ©e aux donnĂ©es
  • Minimum 5 ans d’expĂ©rience professionnelle en tant que Data Scientist
  • MotivĂ©(e) par soi-mĂȘme, apprenant(e) indĂ©pendant(e) et aimant partager ses connaissances avec les membres de l’équipe
  • CompĂ©tences obligatoires : MaĂźtrise de SQL / Python / Looker
