Data Analytics Senior Data Scientist, Growth Product at Chime

Senior Data Scientist designs and analyzes A/B tests, builds product metrics, and provides data-driven insights to guide growth product decisions and experimentation.

Senior Posted about 3 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About the role

We’re looking for a Sr. Growth Product Data Scientist to partner with our Growth Product and Engineering teams to drive measurable impact across the member journey — from acquisition to conversion through long-term retention. You’ll turn data into the decisions that shape how millions of members discover, direct deposit, and get value from Chime.

This role sits at the intersection of product, data, and experimentation. You’ll own funnels end-to-end, design and analyze A/B tests, and translate ambiguous business questions into clear, prioritized recommendations that ship.

In this role, you will work closely with product managers, design, engineers, product & lifecycle marketing, and operational stakeholders to foster a data-driven product development culture, advise our product roadmaps, and build a deep understanding of member behavior.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $133,000 and go up to $185,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Operate as an independent thought partner to Product, Engineering, and Design — helping shape strategy, not just measure it. You’ll proactively identify opportunities and risks, framing the right questions before they’re even asked.
  • Work with the team to develop a rich program of experimentation and A/B testing to improve member product experiences, including metric creation, experiment design, power analysis, and analysis of experiment results.
  • Drive data-informed decision making within Growth org by equipping PMs and engineers with self-service analytics tools, and conducting ad hoc analyses and causal studies for the team.
  • Use advanced statistical methods for causal inference, as well as time-series and other forecasting techniques, to solve product questions for the team. Occasionally apply machine learning methods for problems such as customer segmentation.
  • Build metrics to measure user funnels, product engagement, and retention, and use those metrics to help brainstorm potential product experiments to drive improvements in them.
  • Help the team establish high-quality eventing to allow the tracking of detailed user behaviors along customer journeys through Chime’s mobile app.
  • Develop and evolve team metrics that define what “good” looks like — ensuring that we optimize for long-term member and business value – and build operational dashboards to track business and product health.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into compelling, executive-ready narratives that inspire action and alignment across teams.
  • Develop robust data pipelines in dbt for your team, and continuously improve the quality and accessibility of customer data.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 5-7 years of relevant hands-on experience in product or business analytics roles (FinTech a plus).
  • Expert-level SQL ability and proficiency in Python.
  • Broad knowledge of applied statistics, experimental design, and analysis of A/B tests. Demonstrated experience with machine learning techniques for applied business use cases.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a trusted advisor to senior cross-functional partners — influencing decisions through both data and judgment.
  • A strong bias toward proactive problem discovery. You don’t wait for tickets — you explore data, spot patterns, and bring forward opportunities that meaningfully change product direction.
  • Strong business intuition and judgment, and experience applying prioritization frameworks to your work (e.g., RICE, Eisenhower matrix).
  • Exceptional data storytelling and data visualization ability. Experience with Hex and Looker
  • Familiarity with building data pipelines using tools like dbt or Airflow.
  • Familiarity with AI coding tools (such as Claude Code and Cursor).

In the Gozem Money business, you will design and implement advanced models to analyze transactional and behavioral data, predict outcomes, detect risks, and unlock new growth opportunities.

This role goes beyond model-building: you will take ownership of the end-to-end data science workflow, including fetching and cleaning data from diverse sources, building scalable models, and deploying them in production. You will collaborate closely with business leaders, engineers, and product managers to translate complex datasets into actionable insights that shape financial inclusion in Sub-Saharan Africa.

As a senior member of the data team, you will also mentor junior team members, contribute to our data culture, and play a key role in ensuring insights quality, governance, and reliability across our pipelines.

Your tasks:

  • Manage and deliver data science projects from conception to production, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance) to translate business problems into data solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of models and pipelines, ensuring the related solutions remain reliable, fair, and scalable.

  • Have experience working with metadata standards, insights quality frameworks, and governance practices.
  • Are able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Can balance innovation with pragmatism, delivering models and insights that drive measurable business impact.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of challenges and moving projects forward.

You have

  • Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data science, preferably in fintech, banking, payments, or digital platforms.
  • Core skills: Mastery of SQL, Python, and ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Analytics engineering basics: Experience with ETL & automation tools (Airflow, Dataform, or equivalent), and handling large-scale structured/unstructured datasets.

  • Languages: French and/or English (bilingual proficiency is a strong plus).
  • Location: Hybrid.

What we like most

  • Self-motivated, autonomous, and proactive in identifying opportunities to create value with data.
  • A natural mentor who enjoys helping others grow.
  • Detail-oriented, structured, and able to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-market environment.

  • Are able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Can balance innovation with pragmatism, delivering models and insights that drive measurable business impact.

Company Overview: At HubSpot, we help businesses grow better every day. Our Guided Selling team is at the center of that mission - building the AI and automation-driven solutions that streamline how our sales team sells, sharpen coaching effectiveness, and accelerate how fast new hires ramp. We operate at the intersection of strategy, data, and enablement, and our work shapes the experience of sales reps across HubSpot globally.

Job Summary: This role sits within HubSpot’s broader Revenue Operations organization and is part of the GTM Strategy & Operations team. Reporting to a Sr. Manager of GTM Strategy & Operations, the team helps shape how HubSpot plans, measures, and improves global sales performance, with annual sales planning serving as its core focus. Partnering across the business, the team develops sales targets, planning guardrails, forecasting models, and operational strategies that support scalable growth across HubSpot’s global GTM organization.

As a Lead Sales Strategy Analyst, you’ll work closely with teams responsible for pipeline generation and revenue growth, including Marketing, BDR, Partner, Sales Operations, FP&A, and executive leadership. You’ll help translate business priorities into data-driven recommendations and actionable plans. You’ll also play a central role in corporate sales reporting, quarterly commit cycles, and strategic analysis, helping leaders make informed decisions in a fast-moving, highly cross-functional environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems through data, thrives in ambiguity, and can confidently communicate insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Success in this role requires a strong analytical foundation, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and comfort leveraging modern analytics and AI-powered tools to improve decision-making and efficiency at scale.

In this role you’ll get to:

Analysis & Insights

  • Surface performance trends, risks, and opportunities through thoughtful analysis, and turn complex findings into clear recommendations
  • Deliver timely reporting and insights that support day-to-day decisions, quarterly planning, and executive visibility
  • Own key components of annual sales planning and forecasting processes for your business area

Strategy & Execution

  • Help shape sales strategy by translating business priorities into planning assumptions, targets, and operational recommendations
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams like Sales, Marketing, BDR, FP&A, and Operations to drive planning work from problem definition through execution
  • Support high-impact initiatives and ad hoc analyses that keep the business moving and improve how we plan, measure, and grow

Sales Enablement & Communication

  • Present insights, recommendations, and progress updates to stakeholders across the GTM organization, including senior leadership
  • Bring structure to ambiguous problems, ask thoughtful questions, and help teams align around the right path forward

We are looking for people who:

Core Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in sales operations, analytics, strategy, FP&A, or other related fields
  • Are highly analytical and comfortable working with large, complex datasets to uncover insights, identify trends, and influence business decisions
  • Have experience building forecasting models, performance models, and scalable reporting frameworks that support strategic planning and operational decision-making
  • Are proficient in SQL, Looker, and other BI/data visualization platforms such as Tableau and Hex
  • Can translate complex analyses and models into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
  • Are naturally curious, ambitious, and enjoys digging into ambiguous problems and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Are excellent communicators who can present effectively, document requirements clearly, and collect and synthesize user feedback
  • Have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Experience automating reporting, improving operational processes, or scaling analytical workflows
  • Experience using AI tools to drive increased productivity

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or HubSpot
